Tim Holtz 12 Tags of Christmas, Day 12: Happy New Year!

Harry: What does this song mean? My whole life, I don't know what this song means. I mean, "Should old acquaintance be forgot…" Does that mean we should forget old acquaintances, or does it mean that if we happen to forget them, we should remember them, which is not possible because we already forgot 'em?

Sally: Well, maybe it just means that we should remember that we forgot them, or something. Anyway, it's about old friends.

Happy, happy New Year, to my dear friends, both old and new! My final submission to Tim's 12 Tags of Christmas comes in just under the wire (whew!), and it's a celebration of the brand new beginning that 2012 offers. It's also my wish for all of you that this coming year will be the best you've ever had! Take these next twelve months and shape a beautiful, exciting, inspiring existence for yourself. And remember, when all else fails:

 “Draw a crazy picture
Write a nutty poem
Sing a mumble-gumble song
Whistle through your comb.
Do a loony-goony dance '
Cross the kitchen floor
Put something silly in the world
 That ain't been there before.”
 ― Shel Silverstein

In other words, create, create, create!

Hugs,
Linda

Linda: Love your tag! I still have #10,#11, and #12 tags to finish.

My husband's family is 7th generation Scots and this is how my father-in-law had described Auld Lang Syne to me: The words 'Auld Lang Syne' literally translates from old Scottish dialect meaning 'Old Long Ago' and is about love and friendship in times past, also forgetting and forgiving past transgressions. The lyrics referring to "We will tak 'o cup of kindness yet" relate to a drink shared by men and women to symbolise friendship. Hope this helps you understand!
Happy New Year,
